Women in Logistics
Who are they?
What do they do?
How can we assist women to build a professional career in logistics?
How can we increase the number of women In logistics?
The Canadian government has recognized that innovation is the "lifeblood" of a successful 21st century economy. Strengthening women's representation in the Canadian workforce, and specifically within the supply chain logistics sector, will address national issues relating to current and future skilled labor needs, support the building of Canada's innovation capacity, will increase women's economic well-being on a personal level, of their families, their industry and communities.
In 2006 The Logistics Institute's Board of Directors created a Task Force to explore options and create awareness of the contributions of women currently in the Canadian supply chain logistics profession. In 2008, the volunteer Task Force has evolved into a National Executive team and have developed a strategic plan and roadmap to take the Women in Logistics to the next step.
